At Diamond Lake Sailing School, we offer a variety of sailing classes tailored to different age groups and skill levels. From the young novice to the seasoned racer, our courses are designed to provide comprehensive instruction in a fun and safe environment. Explore our class offerings and find the perfect fit for your sailing aspirations!

DLYC Member Registration Opens February 1!

Whether you're taking your first step into sailing or looking to refine your racing skills, Diamond Lake Sailing School has a class for you. Our experienced instructors are dedicated to making sailing a memorable and enjoyable experience. DLYC members can register starting February 1st and set sail on a journey of discovery and adventure! ​KinderSail

  • Price: $160/student

  • Target Group:  5-6 years old

  • Focus: Basic sailing concepts, safety, and fun on the water

  • Schedule: 10 am to Noon

  • June 29th-July 2nd

  • July  20th- July 23rd

  • Note: This class is for DLYC members only.

Morning Class

  • Price: $220/non-member, $176/member

  • Target Group: 7-10 Years old

  • Focus: Fundamental sailing skills, boat handling, and safety

  • Schedule: 9 am to Noon on 6/22-6/25, 6/29-7/2, 7/6-7/9, 7/13-7/16, 7/20-7/23

  • Note: Ideal for those new to sailing, seeking a strong foundation

Afternoon Class

  • Price: $220/non-member, $176/member

  • Target Group: 11-16 Years old

  • Focus: Enhanced boat handling, sailing techniques, and confidence building

  • Schedule: 1-4pm on  6/22-6/25, 6/29-7/2, 7/6-7/9, 7/13-7/16, 7/20-7/23

Sip & Sail

  • Price: $72/member

  • Target Group: Adults

  • Focus: Basic sailing concepts, safety, and fun on the water

  • Schedule: 6-8 PM on 6/25, 7/2, 7/9, 7/16, 7/23, 7/30

  • Price: $220/non-member, $176/member

  • Target Group: 7-16 Years old

  • Focus: Fundamental sailing skills, boat handling, and safety

  • Schedule: July 27th-July 30th

  • 9-noon and 1-4pm classes available

Private Lessons

  • Price: $90/non-member; $72/member

  • Target Group: 8+ Years old

  • Focus: Enhanced boat handling, sailing techniques, and confidence building

  • Schedule: 6-8 PM Mondays (6/22, 7/6, 7/13,  7/20 or on a mutually agreed upon time/ date. Contact Amy Usher (630-272-4023) to arrange dates, prior to registration, if requesting different date/time.

Intro to Racing   Seminar

  • ​Price: $120/non-member, $96/member

  • Target Group: 12+(10+ will be considered.) Instructor approval required prior to registering(Contact Amy Usher 630-272-4023.) Must be an independent sailor. Minimum of one session of afternoon class preferred. Contact Amy Usher 630-272-4023

  • Focus: 3 hour seminar, racing rules, tactics, boating safety and FUN!

  • Schedule: 2-5pm on June 23rd, July 3rd and July 17th.

  • ​Price: $80

  • Target Group: 5-6 Years Old

  • Focus: Basic sailing concepts, safety, fun on the water

  • Schedule: July 7th-July 8th  from 4:30-6:30pm

  • DLYC members only

Adult Sailing Sampler

  • ​Price: $90/non-member, $72/member

  • Target Group: 16+ Years Old

  • Focus: basic terms, rigging, safety skills, trimming, steering, tacking

  • Schedule:                                               June 29th  from 5:30-8:30pm    OR    July 10th from 1:30-4:30

  • Classes marked as 'Cancelled' will not be held.
