Classes

Open Sail Camp (Ages 7 to 16)

Times: July 27th-July 30th 9am-noon or1 pm-4 pm.

Program Cost: $176 Members/$220 Non-Members

Sailboats used: Opti, Sunfish, Butterfly and 420

​

 A great option for those who wish their children or grandkids can attend at the same time. All classes are focused on fun and social interchange as opposed to

strictly racing. In this class, youth sailors learn the skills to sail an Opti, sunfish single handed

or a 420, a two-person boat, with another sailor.  They will interact with the instructors both on

the water and classroom. On shore they will be taught how to correctly rig their

sailboat , launch and then sail the craft. Our young sailors can take this class multiple

times and will be divided based on skill levels while working with the instructors to

improve their sailing abilities.

 

All students will always wear life jackets.  Instructors, either in the student's boat or on

a safety boat, accompany the students.  All instructors are experienced sailors.  All

have learned to sail in the DLYC Sailing School.

The DLYC is offering a limited number of scholarships for youths who need financial
